It’s the big mystery every Joss Whedon fan wants to know… Who plays Alpha in Dollhouse? We know who plays most of the other characters as you can see on our Dollhouse cast page, but no one seems to know which actor plays the part of renegade Alpha, the former Active who either went a little crazy or just violently broke away from the leadership ranks of the Dollhouse. Or based on the Episode 2 trailer, it could be a little bit of both.

Eliza Dushku stopped by Live with Regis and Kelly last Thursday, the day before the Dollhouse series premiere to pump up support for the show. Let me just take this time to say that Eliza is a baller. The girl’s an ex-smoker, took on the 2008 Nautica Malibu Triathlon with no training and finished third among celebrity entrants. “Dollhouse” did quite well for Friday night, especially coming off little-watched “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” but it still will have to do better in order to move to a better timeslot. There was good news to be found elsewhere on the Web Sunday though. “Dollhouse” soared up the iTunes charts and currently sits as the second most downloaded TV show behind the Sci-Fi channel’s Battlestar Galactica.

“Dollhouse” opened to solid but unspectacular ratings for its timeslot and dramatically improved Fox’s numbers from the lead-in show, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” but as the varying remarks in this post indicate, these numbers can be skewed all sorts of ways.
