Dollhouse premiere soars up iTunes charts
As we reported earlier Sunday, the Dollhouse ratings are in and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Dollhouse did quite well for Friday night, especially coming off little-watched Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but it still will have to do better in order to move to a better timeslot.
There was good news to be found elsewhere on the Web Sunday though. Dollhouse soared up the iTunes charts and currently sits as the second most downloaded TV show behind the Sci-Fi channel’s Battlestar Galactica. It was a meteoric rise for the premiere episode of Dollhouse, as it shot up from the 19th most downloaded show all the way up to second place in less than a day.
Each episode of Dollhouse is supposed to stand alone and have a story arch that begins and ends with each episode, but given the serialized nature of Joss Whedon’s shows, it can only be a good thing that so many more people are finding Dollhouse online. When the DVR and Tivo numbers roll in, Dollhouse’s viewer numbers could soar again by more than a million viewers.
That being said, Dollhouse still needs to continue to improve in its Friday night timeslot. Strong iTunes numbers alone will not keep a show on television. Exhibit A - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has little to no chance of surviving this year despite coming in on this list as the ninth most downloaded TV show.

Glad to hear the ratings were decent, both on Friday and on iTunes.
My question is this though. Could the “unspectacular” part be that only the “Whedonites” watched the show? I hope that’s not the case. Maybe if we all get the word out even more, (like all that is awesome you’re doing here) we can pull in some more views!
Looking forward to Episode 2 this Friday!
