Dollhouse’s Amy Acker takes role in ABC drama

As “Dollhouse” fans prepare to say hello to one Whedonite alum, is another Joss Whedon veteran bowing out early? Unless Amy Acker plans on juggling two series, that could be exactly what she is doing. Zap2It.com reports that Acker has accepted a role in a new ABC pilot.

Mystery solved! Alan Tudyk stars as Alpha in Dollhouse!

“Dollhouse” fans, the mystery is solved. We can now definitively tell you that Alan Tudyk is the mysterious rogue doll Alpha (or Alfa based on the correct NATO spelling) in Joss Whedon’s latest gem of a TV show. We first brought you this story Feb. 15 when we continued our series exploring who the mysterious actor playing Alpha might be. We brought you two names — Alan Tudyk and Michael Muhney. It turns out we didn’t have to explore much more than that because the second post nailed it.

Dollhouse: If I were a doll…

The premise of the show Dollhouse is that these dolls, or Actives, can be imprinted with any type of memory, any type of skill. That led to an interesting cast question — if you could be imprinted with any type of skill in the world, which skill would you choose?

Portrayed by Tahmoh Penikett, Paul Ballard is an FBI field agent given the impossible dead-end task of solving the Dollhouse case.  While most think that the Dollhouse is a myth, a Bureau ghost story, Ballard believes it’s real.
Despite being ridiculed by other agents and following leads that kill any hopes of a promotion, Ballard is intent on proving there is a Dollhouse.

Portrayed by Olivia Williams on the Fox Dollhouse TV show, Adelle DeWitt is the Queen Barbie, the boss of dolls.  As cold and calculating as she is beautiful, Adelle runs the Dollhouse like a Fortune 500 CEO.  A true visionary, she believes everyone benefits from the Dollhouse, and she aims to keep the highly illegal service running smoothly.
Calm, confident and collected on the outside, inwardly Adelle is perhaps even more lonely and isolated than the Actives, whose personalities are wiped clean over and over again.

Portrayed by Harry Lennix, Boyd Langton is the gruff, tough-as-nails bodyguard assigned to Echo, because apparently even Actives need someone to watch their backs.
Boyd’s moral integrity and loyalty is perhaps unmatched by any other character on the show, and he freely admits that he is not totally comfortable with what the Dollhouse is doing.
That begs the question — if it comes down to serving the Dollhouse or protecting Echo, what will Boyd choose to do?

Portrayed by Fran Kranz, Topher Brink is a wise-cracking whiz kid whose scientific brilliance keeps the Dollhouse running.  His thirst for technology helps him bypass moral road blocks other scientists might have a hard time ignoring.  Not only does Topher design the technology used in the Dollhouse, he also is the one who uses it on the Actives.
Due to his awareness of his own flaws – as well as the flaws of those he works with – Topher is the perfect person to assemble the million different personality profiles Actives …

Portrayed by Dichen Lachman, Sierra is the newest Active to join the Dollhouse.  With stunning good looks and an ability to easily adapt to whatever situation she finds herself in, Sierra has quickly risen up the ranks of the Dollhouse.
She is not self-aware like Echo, but she is somewhat drawn to Echo for whatever reason.

Portrayed by Enver Gjokaj, Victor is an Active and works for the Dollhouse.  He primarily plays Lubov, the newest member of the Russian organized crime family known as the Borodins.
The Borodin family runs a large human trafficking ring that’s popped up on Agent Paul Ballard’s radar.  No one knows whether the crime family is somehow tied to the Dollhouse, but Agent Ballard is intent on finding out.
Also, Agent Ballard has no idea that Lubov is really an Active, and while he is imprinted with the character of Lubov, Victor himself …
